Friends and Patrons

These are friends and associates we've made over the years- people who we think very highly of.

We recognize with gratitude those people who have taught us, lent a hand, and otherwise supported the farm; people who made Elm Creek Farms what it is today.

Jim and Judy V. have been the best friends and neighbors anyone could hope for. We would not have made it without their lessons, advice, and helping hands. Their representation of Christian goodwill is a shining example in this pessimistic world. Their respective churches are St. Pius X and First Baptist Church. There are so many things we learned from them and that they passed on to us that are  integral parts of our farm today, that we can't even count them all. We are most especially thankful for the roll of fence, the beautiful koi, and the times that they brought their tractor over to help us get things done. Too many things to list; we love them dearly and always try as hard as we can to be as good to them as they have been to us.

Sandra Moerbe of Tierra Seca Farms, who sold us our first Nigerian Dwarf does and taught us so much. She lent us her buck Buccaneer when we were unable to find a suitable mate for Rose and Freckles. She is a wonderful lady, who we hope we can repay with similar kindness someday.

Joel and Becky  have been very supportive, helping care for the animals and clean poop on occassion! They have helped us maintain our sanity, brought us food when we were too busy to feed ourselves, and make ends meet time wise on several occasions. They helped us get the metal shed that now sits on our little slab and recently gifted us a really nice bbq pit! We love them very much

Kristina who has gifted us a lot over the years but especially her old scratch-and-dent fridge which we plan to use to store milk and cheese. She and Vince are special to us

Ron and Virginia  of Country Roads Driving School; wonderful neighbors who lent us the trailer we picked Angel up in. They are some of the kindest and most knowledgeable people we know, coming over and sharing information about cows when Coconut was born. We knew absolutely nothing about cows; their advice helped us so much.

Martha and Norma, family who have taken time from their vacations in the area to help us move large items and destroy the nasty old shed with the Hammer of Martha!

Noel and Angel  of Alamo Area Aikikai for encouraging us, granting us an Aikido scholarship when we couldn't otherwise afford to practice, and gifting us MOUNTAINS of egg cartons! Special people! Wish we had time to practice with them.

The Conley Family, Colquhoun Family, and Mando for helping us move in and tame the wild acres of yard in the beginning! They brought over their lawnmowers when we didn't have any and helped us destroy the tall weeds. Mando even lent us his riding mower for a while. Though we have all gone our separate ways and they have moved far away, we still remember their support in that critical time of transition with gratitude.

Jim and Nita  for introducing us to Joel Salatin and gifting us the book Folks, this ain't Normal.
We have learned a lot.
